Candytuft is an evergreen perennial flower with dark green, glossy leaves. It grows in a tidy mound.

In May, tiny sparkling white flowers form flat clusters. The flowers are very attractive at full bloom when they completely cover the leaves.

Because the leaves stay green throughout the winter, candytuft provides interest throughout the year. The mounds do not spread in width much in width.

Candytuft has performed well at the Xeriscape Garden. The evergreen leaves bring much needed green color to the garden throughout the year. The white flowers in spring are beautiful.

It can tolerate low water, but does not tolerate extreme heat well.

Trim off spent flowers after blooming to keep the plant attractive. Trim off brown portions of stems in the spring before new growth starts.
