Larger than the other blue stars, eastern blue star is robust, upright, clump-forming perennial flower.

In spring, pale blue star-shaped flowers bloom in clustsers at the tips of the stems.

Its leaves are beautiful throughout the growing season. In summer, the willow-like leaves are a glossy green. In fall, they turn bright gold.

Eastern blue star is a reliable, carefree plant.

Eastern blue star is planted in three different locations at the Xeriscape Garden. In all three spots, it has performed very well.

It blooms reliably, overwinters easily and has a nice gold color in fall. Definitely worth considering.

Cut stems to ground level in late winter before new growth begins in spring.
