European is a small perennial flower that blooms in early spring. It has silvery buds that open to cup-shaped red or purple flowers with a yellow center.

After the flowers fade, they produce long-lasting silky seedheads that are just as attractive as the flowers. Finely dissected leaves grow in an attractive mound through the rest of the summer.

European pasque flower has survived at the Xeriscape Demonstration Garden for many years. It grows in several locations, ranging from full sun to part shade. It doesn't require hardly any maintenance and is attractive for a long time. A great choice.
