Green mound currant is a small, globe-shaped green shrub. It has glossy, dark green leaves on thin branches.

Smaller than alpine currant, it is a nice, compact, low-maintenance plant. It produces insignificant, greenish yellow clusters of flowers in spring, but no fruit.

Green mound currant has proven to be a drought-tolerant shrub at the Xeriscape Demonstration Garden. It is a nice, dark green, compact shrub.

Sometimes it produces a few branches that are taller than normal. We simply prune them out to shape the shrub.

Prune occasionally to achieve desired shape.
