Red Feathers is a short-lived perennial flower with thin, narrow, dark green leaves at the base. The flower spikes are dense clusters of deep red blooms, giving the apperance of plumes or feathers. The flowers appear in early summer, and may reappear later if the spent flowers are removed.

Red feathers is a short-lived plant. It has produced nice flowers at the Xersicape Garden, but individual plants disappear after a few years. The flower stalks are nice, so if you like this plant plan on replacing it occasionally.

Remove spent flower stalks to prolong blooming.
