This profuse bloomer forms a dense, neat mound of medium green leaves. The loosely branched panicles carry funnel-shaped flowers of vivid violet blue. The blooms last for many weeks in the early summer. Serbian bellflower makes a great rock garden plant. It is native to the rocky mountains of Croatia.

Serbian bellflower has been a good performer at the Xeriscape Garden. It grows as a nice mound with beautiful blue flowers throughout the summer. It is smaller in size, so plant it in a spot where a small plant will be noticed.

Trim off dead growth in late winter.
