Spicy orange thyme is a short, mat forming plant. It is grown for its long-blooming, soft pink flowers, which bloom in late spring. In addition, the leaves emit a pleasant citrus scent when rubbed or crushed. This is a good plant for a rock garden.

Spicy orange thyme has been a successful plant in one of the rock gardens at the Xeriscape Demonstration Garden. The fragrance of the leaves is a nice attribute.

Winter watering will help prevent dieback in areas with no persistent snow cover. Shear off spent flower stalks after flowering.
