Vanderwolf's pyramid is a selection of native limber pine. It is a beautiful evergreen tree with soft, long, bluish needles and a pyramidal shape. It grows fairly quickly into a large tree.

This is a good option to consider for a large tree since it provides a more unique appearance than typical blue spruces and ponderosa pines. It can be used for screening or as a specimen tree. It makes a very attractive tree.

There are two Vanderwolf's pyramid pines growing at the Xeriscape Garden. Both have grown fairly quickly and performed well with minimal maintenance.

We sheltered them from deer damage early on, but they don't require it now that they have grown larger.

Prune when young to create a healthy, well-shaped specimen tree. No other maintenance required.
